This Privacy Policy explains how Magenable handles personal information in connection with magenable.com.au, our communications and services, and the PDP Health Check by Magenable Chrome extension.
Our website and Chrome extension operate differently. The website may use cookies and third-party services as described below. The Chrome extension performs its analysis locally in your browser and does not automatically send page information or reports to Magenable.
Information you provide to Magenable
We may receive information you voluntarily provide when you contact us, submit an enquiry, subscribe to communications, or use our services. Depending on what you choose to provide, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, company details and the content of your communication.
We use this information to respond to your enquiry, provide requested services and support, manage our relationship with you, and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We send email newsletters and promotional messages to people who have subscribed or requested them. You can unsubscribe or ask us to stop sending marketing messages at any time.
Website cookies, analytics and third-party services
Our website uses cookies and may use analytics, conversion-measurement and advertising technologies to operate the website, understand how it is used and improve our services. Depending on the services in use, technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, pages visited and cookie identifiers may be processed by us or our service providers.
We may use technical, analytics, advertising and email service providers to help deliver these functions. Where used, these may include Google Analytics, Facebook/Meta, Mailchimp, X/Twitter and other providers identified in our current cookie or consent information. The applicable providers’ own policies explain their handling of information.
These providers may process information under their own privacy policies, and may store or process information outside Australia. We do not use information from the Chrome extension for website advertising, audience profiling or conversion tracking.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and use available website or provider privacy controls. Blocking cookies may affect some website functionality.
Chrome extension: local processing, no automatic collection by Magenable
PDP Health Check by Magenable analyses the product page you explicitly choose in Chrome. Analysis begins only after you activate the extension on the intended tab and click Analyse This Page. No account, registration or email address is required to use the extension.
The extension reads relevant product-page information, such as page metadata, product text, supported structured data, product images and controls, visible pricing and stock statements, and basic technical observations. This information is processed locally in your browser.
Magenable does not automatically receive, collect or store the page information, audit reports or usage counters generated by the extension. The extension does not upload page HTML, product information or reports to Magenable, analytics services or third-party AI providers.
The extension does not request access to your browser history, cookies, passwords or form input values. It does not automatically monitor your browsing or crawl websites in the background. It uses the currently selected page address locally to target the analysis and match product information; reports retain the page origin rather than the full product path, query or fragment.
The extension is intended for product pages. Filtering and redaction reduce unrelated personal information, but cannot reliably classify all content on every website. Avoid analysing sensitive/private pages and review reports before sharing them.
Local storage and deletion
The extension temporarily caches up to ten reports in Chrome’s browser-session storage. Reports have a 30-minute reuse window. Expired reports are pruned when the extension next interacts with its cache; deletion is not guaranteed to occur at precisely 30 minutes without further interaction. Browser-session end or the extension’s Clear results control removes these reports.
Scoring preferences and non-identifying aggregate extension-interaction counters are stored locally in Chrome until cleared or the extension is uninstalled. They are not sent to Magenable. There is no per-event browsing history, remote analytics identifier, keystroke monitoring or cursor tracking.
Clear results & counters removes reports and counters while preserving scoring preferences. Restore defaults resets the preferences. Uninstalling the extension removes its extension storage.
Reports, support and external links
Copying or exporting a report happens only when you request it. A copied report or downloaded file is then under your control and outside the extension’s storage-retention controls. Review and redact it before sending it to anyone.
If you choose to email Magenable, attach a report, or submit a support request, we receive the information you voluntarily send. This is separate from the extension’s local operation; there is no automatic support-data upload.
GitHub Issues is a public support channel. Do not post passwords, cookies, account information, customer details, private URLs, personal addresses or unreviewed reports/screenshots there. You can email [email protected] instead. GitHub handles its own service under its privacy policy.
Optional links to Magenable open our website only when clicked, without an audit payload attached. Your visit to the website is then subject to the website practices described in this policy. Chrome, the Chrome Web Store and other third-party platforms operate under their own privacy policies.
Limited Use and future changes
The extension uses handled information only to provide its disclosed, user-requested diagnostic, local reports/preferences/counters, and explicit copying/export. It does not sell information, use it for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or unrelated purposes, or automatically transfer it for remote human review.
Our handling of information through the extension is intended to comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Local processing still constitutes data handling, even though Magenable does not receive that information.
The current extension has no external AI, PageSpeed, remote telemetry or Magenable-backend integration. If new data-sharing functionality is introduced, we will update the relevant disclosures and obtain any required consent before using it.
Sharing and service providers
For website enquiries, communications and services, we may share information with providers who help us operate our website, communicate with you or provide requested services, and where required or permitted by law. We do not sell or rent personal information. Extension information is not automatically shared with those providers.
If you voluntarily send us information for support, it may be handled through the communication/support systems you choose to use. Please do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary to resolve your request.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, request deletion where applicable, unsubscribe from marketing, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required by law or reasonably necessary for an unresolved matter.
Magenable cannot remotely view or delete extension reports that remain only in your browser. Use the extension’s clearing controls, Chrome’s extension controls or uninstall the extension to remove local extension information. You control any copies or exports you have saved or shared.
Retention and security
For information you provide directly to Magenable, we retain it for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable legal requirements. Extension-local retention is described separately above.
We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to protect information we hold. No transmission or storage method is completely secure; please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information. Website use of HTTPS protects information in transit but is not a guarantee against every security risk.
Other websites
Our website and extension may link to other websites. Their content and privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review those policies before providing information to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time by posting a revised version on this page and updating its date. Material changes to the extension’s handling or sharing of information will also be reflected in the relevant extension disclosures and consent mechanisms where required.
